Watchlist for Friday the 13th

Odd facts: thirteen is my lucky number and I actually lived in Crystal Lake for a time while growing up.

NLST – ALFFS! ALFFS! ALFFS! Nice 100%+ run up on no meaningful news. ALFFS! ALFFS! ALFFS! You know the drill by now … hopefully.

VRMLQ – I’m long this (as is Tim Sykes) on this beautiful breakout with volume. I hope to exit on a morning spike … this thing has a good record of multi-day runs.

IMGG, SNIC, KNDI, NANO are some other recent breakouts. Considering how interesting the first two stocks are I won’t even show you the graphs of these stocks. If there are ideal plays, ignore all others.

NANO is trying to break multi year resistance at 10ish this morning, you have to go back on a two year chart to find it. Might break out again.

Arggh, tried going long NLST thrice on breaks to nhods and lost $492 collectively. The last time I would’ve made up for my previous losses, but I was too conservative; got in at 2.43 and got out as it fell from 2.50 back to 2.45

Hi Reaper,
I just watched your IB trading video from a few days ago and I had two questions:
1. If you enter an order and it says there are no shares, have you had much luck with it finding some later? I’ve tried a few times and left it going all day with no luck.
2. Not related, but if you enter a limit order that doesn’t get filled, does replacing that with a new more liberal price cause you to “lose your place in line”? That is to say, could it just have been that the volume was bad and your original price would have been filled if you’d waited, and now it’ll take even longer since you changed it?

NANO acting nicely now, I messed up on that one.
Another lesson learned, I didn’t let it get to my mental stop, I tried to out think it and that is the wrong thing to do. I need to stick with my rules and quit trying to anticipate a move.

  I don’t care how much you train, when the gun is real things change.
  I have trained with knives more, self defense, knife to knife and removing technique’s to help make you comfortable when you do not have one. In 3 seconds I could cut you 10 times in many major arteries starting at the throat and stopping at the right leg.
  It’s very important that you are calm during this type training, adrenaline or nervousness will get you hurt and you will not absorb the information correctly. Trading is the same in some ways I think, it never helps to get upset or frustrated. However emotion is completely different, you have to have some emotion to function properly, to know when the other person is weaker or stronger than you you have to be able to understand his motives very quickly. When you can do that you can hurt him badly or protect him from himself if he is just emotionally frustrated at you or someone else or just insane.

Reaper or anyone,
I’m thinking of signing up for TimAlerts but I don’t have a cellphone. I wanted to get the emails fast but Outlook Express only has a 1 minute checking interval and I opened a Gmail account and d/l Gmail Notifier for the desktop and it only checks mail every 2 minutes. Does anyone know of a free d/l or service that lets you check email and be notified almost instantly? Thanks.

  There are various methods … I won’t give away mine, but I will say that recently I’ve been getting emails faster than texts maybe 50% of the time. I do not use outlook or webmail, but I do have gmail.

Well i retire for today, is getting late here in Madrid, i did an almost perfect catch of IMGG, I got in too early so i loose a little short potential but enough for me, plus the PWOIF was my play of the day as I said here. it couldnt continue the hype and the fell down in a very nice way. I love days like today, few plays, but perfect. I only keep over weekend my shorts on GHLV and an order to buy more if someone cover their sales for the weekend. I hope u guys have a nice weekend.

I would have believed that video much more if they used a cap gun or gun that shot dye out to see if the guy with the gun could have gotten off a shot. If you don’t move the wrist half an inch far enough or move fast enough your toast. I wonder what the statistics are to of surviving such an attempt..If there are cops around they will find a way to get behind them and take them out. I’ve seen that on TV but i guess its like a loose loose scenario anyway about.
