As a matter of fact, on some critical level it is nearly impossible for any GOOD trader to be an egomaniac.

A need to be be right, and to be directly validated in front of third parties usually goes hand in hand with trading losses. The market does not love you, only mom does, the market does not ask you your opinion or cares about it.

Even some who talk a good game are usually adpet at cutting losses and admitting wrong or defeat, without taking it personally or assuming it is an indictment of their trading skills unless they break their own rules thus being undisciplined when they know better intellectually.

Reaper is NOT an egomaniac by any stretch of the imagination, IMHO.

In chat rooms tons of those are found predicting future price levels to the penny, claiming they saw 1000% moves intra-day coming before they were realized, take personally differing views on trading issues, etc.

Reaper is a polar opposite, arguably…

Yeah CHGY was far from ideal … we nailed EMAN earlier this week in chat (although I missed the trade) … I would’ve posted that but I hadn’t enabled chat logs until yesterday.

But I definitely agree … the key is to know the stocks / setups so you can make use of the alerts. CHGY had a big run chart so we were short-biased.

Thank you Reaper for your fine moderation daily AND this much needed blog post.

Calls, particularly in context with homework done by the poster, make chat worthwhile.

Really *ideal* calls with perfect set-ups like EMAN ditto.

Free rooms are zoos like Stock Hideout, which I visited today. 600 Newbies posting random unmoderated “picks” because THEY bought/sold it, illiquid sub 1centers, that have no context or homework because the posters are not trading professionals who confuse other newcomers and make the room useless, and a waste of everyone’s time.

I frequent Reaper’s room for a very important reason, and that is for timely real-time ***alerts*** like CHGY…
